Water pours down a cliff face, and Saskia Wendle lets go. The fall should shatter her, but instead she sinks into a warm, dark ocean where fleshy vines puppet her limbs and a winged leviathan prowls the depths. She wakes up choking on swamp water, naked, three and a half meters tall, and covered in grey, mole-dotted hide. The climbing accident that left her human body scarred and seizure-ridden is gone. In its place is a troll regenerating flesh and a spectral interface hovering in her vision. A cracked CRT monitor perched in a misty glade tree catches her claw. She taps it. The glass fractures, English text bleeds across its surface, and a bowstring snaps. An elf arrow punches into her shoulder before she even registers the threat. That single tap on the worldseed does not just awaken her oracle sight. It corrupts the local magic source, paints a target on her back, and forces her to run.
Arbor Mundi is not a planet. It is a branch-spanning ecosystem where gravity bows to magic, days fracture into erratic eclipses, and survival depends on reading the terrain faster than the locals can loose a shaft. Saskia cheat is not a stat sheet or a system prompt. It is a game developer UI grafted onto an oracle divine sight. A minimap paints trunkward bearings and creature threat levels in her peripheral vision. Combat telegraphs paint red trajectories across the air seconds before an elf druid launches scorching sap. A medical overlay highlights broken bones and arterial bleeds like a triage simulator. The interface does not hand her power. It forces her to earn it through trial, error, and brutal adaptation. She mixes valley clay and her own turbocharged blood to brew regenerative draughts. She learns Dwarvish and Elvish by forcing the translator to map phonetic patterns onto her UI labels. She turns a dead sanctum keystone into a command console by writing Ulugmiran syntax with a spectral quill. Every tool demands a price. Every upgrade leaves a scar.
The trigger that sets her on this path is not a chosen one prophecy. It is a desperate tap on a dying worldseed that rewrites her biology, brands her a demon in the eyes of the alvari, and severs her from the human life she left behind. The elves hunt her on sight. The dwarves chain her for the fighting pits. The god Abellion invades her dreams to crush her mind. Saskia does not get to ease into this world. She gets thrown into the gizzard of a deepworm, dissolves and regrows her own flesh until her skin hardens to granite, and wakes up with an elf arlium focus rooted in her palm. The story does not ask whether she will survive. It asks what she will become when the only way forward is to stop running and start breaking the rules that were built to kill her.
I exploited the integer overflow bug.

Saskia wakes in a misty glade with a cracked monitor in a tree and a pair of elves rutting in the grass. She taps the screen. The glass splinters, English script crawls over the pages, and an arrow immediately buries itself in her shoulder. There is no tutorial. There is only a minimap booting up in her peripheral vision and a druid channeling amber acid that melts the canopy above her. She runs. The interface telegraphs attack trajectories in colored light, forcing her to zigzag through spear throws and vine shields. She learns the hard way that troll regeneration knits arrow wounds in minutes but does nothing against acid burns. She flees into the Frostspear Mountains, follows a cave icon on her map, and claims a lichen-lit cavern that smells like home. The solitude breaks when a half-frozen dwarf woman collapses in the snow outside. Saskia drags her inside, heats stones to stave off hypothermia, and watches a medical overlay highlight a crystal shard lodged next to the dwarf heart. She brews a sludge of valley berries, pine bark, and her own blood, forces it down the dwarf throat, and watches frostbitten flesh knit back together. The dwarf coughs up black phlegm, glares at her, and says her name is Ruhildi. That single act of triage forges an alliance that will keep them both alive, but it also draws the attention of the elf keeper who lost his staff to Saskia weeks earlier. His warband is already tracking the blood trail up the mountain pass.
Tapping the worldseed awakens Saskia oracle UI and brands her a demon, forcing a mountain retreat that forges a life-debt with a fugitive dwarf.
The descent into the underground river system turns into a slaughter when Thiachrin warband breaches the Dead Sanctum doors. Saskia tries to bargain, offering Garrain his staff in exchange for peace. He lunges for the arlium tip instead. Thiachrin glowing claymore shears through steel and flesh, and Saskia plummets over a waterfall with Garrain and Ruhildi in tow. She hits the churning water and vanishes. A deepworm swallows her whole. Inside the gizzard, acid scourges her skin to slurry while boulders grind her skull. She cannot scream. She can only feed, tear, and regenerate. The cycle breaks her mind. Her body goes feral, muscles bulging, hide hardening into polished granite. When she finally claws her way out of the worm brain in a geyser of gore, she is not alone in her head. Garrain staff dissolved in the stomach acid, but its arlium focus did not. It migrated into her palm, threading glowing filaments through her veins and into her brain. She is now his living focus. Every spell he casts draws essence through her, heating her blood like a furnace. Ruhildi and a captive Garrain track her feral self through the steaming jungle of Wilbergond. They trap her in a stone pit, and Garrain brings his glaive down on her wrist. The blow barely parts the granite skin, but the contact snaps her consciousness back into place. She wakes up gripping his broken wrist, the arlium network pulsing through her chest, and a magical leash suddenly wrapped around the elf who swore to kill her. The truce is fragile, but the earthquakes shaking the tunnels ahead promise something far worse than elf hunters.
Surviving the deepworm gizzard calcifies Saskia hide and fuses Garrain arlium focus into her body, turning hunter and prey into magically bound dependents.
The tunnel opens into Dwallondorn, a flooded ruin where dwarf stoneshapers are getting slaughtered by mer tempests. Ruhildi refuses to watch her kin die. Saskia wades into the churning water, swings Mjolnir into a mer skull, and feels bone cave in under her hammer. There is no glory in it. There is only the wet crunch and the sudden silence that follows. The tempests lock onto her. Five spears channel a call lightning spell. The water at her feet glows red. She throws Ruhildi clear and leaps straight into their wind barrier. The bolt hits. The world turns white. When the steam clears, the tempests are fried, entombed under a falling boulder, and Saskia interface is dead. No minimap. No telegraphs. No lie detector. Just ringing ears and the taste of ozone. The dwarves win, but the victory costs her something she cannot regenerate. She looks at the mer archer she crushed, retches into the water, and breaks down sobbing. Ruhildi holds her arm while she shakes, but the tears do not wash the blood off her hands. She has crossed the line from survivor to killer. The descent continues down a spiraling chasm that drops toward the Underneath, but the magical backlash from the lightning strike has left her blind to threats. Garrain is casting spells topside, heating her veins, and the tremors shaking the tunnel walls are getting stronger. Something is waiting at the bottom, and she has to face it without her eyes.
The lightning strike that saves the dwarves fries Saskia oracle UI and forces her to confront the psychological weight of her first intentional kill.
Torpend is not the refuge Ruhildi promised. While her friend negotiates with the city guilds, dwarf slavers tranquilize Saskia with crossbow bolts and chain her in a fighting pit. A burning collar sears her throat every time she resists. She is forced into the sand against a razor-feathered turkey monster, a six-legged crab lizard, and a pack of ice-generating adorribles. She refuses to play executioner. She draws blood, ends fights early, and earns the crowd boos. The collar punishes her defiance. The adorribles give her an idea. She gestures to the fuzzy critters, points at her neck, and lets them climb her shoulders. Their freezing paws clamp onto the metal. Ice meets enchantment. Steam jets from her throat as the thermal shock weakens the runes. She hooks her claws under the buckle and rips it apart. The arena erupts. She tears collars off the adorribles, smashes handlers into the cage walls, and bolts into the slums with Rover Dog at her heels. Crossbows track them through the alleys until four cloaked figures step out of the shadows. Daggers fly. Bolts drop pursuers. Ruhildi pulls back her hood, flanked by the mercenary crew that once followed her as Vindica. They drag the trolls to a safehouse, wash the arena stink off them, and hand Saskia a black cube that Kveld pulled from the crypts. The cube floats to her face, projects a command scroll, and addresses her as mouthlet of the master. It is a mobile keystone. It recognizes Calburn bloodline. The crew stares. Ruhildi nods. Saskia finally stops hiding what she is, and the revelation turns a band of smugglers into sworn protectors just as the Shaper Guild enforcers start pounding on the district gates.
Breaking the arena collar with thermal shock triggers a slum escape that forces Saskia to reveal her demon-king lineage, turning fugitives into a sworn warband.
Saskia enters Arbor Mundi as a brain-damaged game artist and wakes up as a regenerating troll with a developer UI grafted onto her sight. She does not get handed power. She reverse-engineers it. She mixes valley clay and her own blood to brew regenerative draughts, forces her translator to map alien phonetics onto interface labels, and exploits dream logic to crash a god avatar with an integer overflow bug. The deepworm gizzard calcifies her hide and fuses an elf arlium focus into her palm, turning her into a living magical battery. Every upgrade costs flesh. Every alliance demands trust she is terrified to give. She breaks down after her first intentional kill, refuses to prolong arena suffering for crowd entertainment, and finally stops hiding her lineage when a mobile keystone recognizes her father blood. She is not a chosen hero. She is a stubborn creator who treats survival like a crunch deadline.
Ruhildi collapses in the snow as a half-frozen escapee from elven slave pens, a crystal shard lodged next to her heart and a torturer cruorger magic twisted into necromancy. She does not ask for pity. She demands control over the dead that haunt her sleep. Saskia blood-booster knits her frostbitten flesh, and the debt she owes turns into a ferocious, unshakeable loyalty. She hides her true identity behind a wormhide hood, but the statue in Torpend rock garden tells the real story. She is Vindica, the shaper who led slave revolts, butchered elf wardens, and became a legend her own father tried to erase. She wields stoneshaping and necrourgy with equal ruthlessness, raises deepworm spawn to tear through a jungle, and risks execution by the city watch to break Saskia out of the fighting pit. She is a scarred veteran who chose vengeance over peace, and found something worth protecting in a monster who refused to become one.
Garrain begins as a zealous greenhand keeper hunting the demon that stole his ancestral staff, Ruinath. He trains until his hands bleed, commissions a searing glaive from a slave-driving forge master, and leads a warband into the Dead Sanctum to reclaim his magic. The waterfall plunge changes everything. His staff dissolves in a deepworm stomach, but the arlium focus migrates into Saskia palm. He wakes up magically tethered to the creature he swore to kill, drawing essence through her veins every time he casts a spell. The leash forces him to negotiate. He breaks his own wrist trying to cut the crystal free, watches her save him from a deepworm proboscis, and slowly realizes the demon bleeds, hesitates, and refuses to execute helpless foes. He remains an elf of the Circle, bound to duty and a lifemate who practices forbidden cruorger magic, but the magical symbiosis and grudging respect turn a black-and-white crusade into a complicated, uneasy alliance.
