Content Guidelines

MythFan maintains a curated, neutral encyclopedia environment for games and web novels. These guidelines define what content is welcome, what is prohibited, and how moderation operates.

Last updated:

01.Platform Scope & Purpose

MythFan is a community-driven, fan-contributed wiki & archive operating under Fair Use guidelines, dedicated to RPGs, immersive games, and web novels. All contributed content must be relevant to a listed title or to the broader scope of games and novels. Off-topic submissions, spam, and promotional content unrelated to the platform's scope will be removed without notice.

02.Age Requirement & Mature Content

This platform exclusively serves users aged 18 and above. Mature thematic content — including dark narrative themes, fictional violence, and depictions of adult relationships between fictional characters — is permitted within the scope of fan-encyclopedia documentation. Explicit sexual content involving clearly minor-presenting characters is strictly prohibited regardless of claimed fictional age.

03.Acceptable Content

The following contributions are welcome: factual game and novel summaries and lore entries; character profiles with source-cited statistics; fan analysis and meta-commentary marked as editorial; Oracle, Soul, and Devotion (community voting) participation within designated sections; discussion threads that are on-topic and civil. All factual claims should include a source or in-game/in-novel citation where possible.

04.Prohibited Content

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate content removal and may result in account termination: (a) real-person fan fiction of a sexual or defamatory nature; (b) doxxing or sharing of private information about community members; (c) coordinated harassment or pile-on targeting specific users; (d) content that glorifies, incites, or depicts real-world violence; (e) malware, phishing links, or deceptive content; (f) unsolicited commercial advertising.

05.Intellectual Property & Attribution

MythFan operates under principles of commentary, criticism, and education. MythFan does not host, store, or distribute any game executable files, novel downloads, or copyrighted media assets. Original game and novel assets (official artwork, screenshots, cover art) may be embedded under fair-use/fair-dealing principles with proper attribution to the rights holder. Do not upload full game executables, paid DLC assets, or circumvention tools. MythFan operates a fan self-governance ecosystem: contributors are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their submissions. If you are a rights holder who believes content infringes on your IP, submit a formal notice to [email protected] and we will review and remove infringing material within 3–7 business days upon verification.

06.Community Conduct & Civility

All community interactions must remain civil and constructive. Criticism of games, novels, narratives, or mechanics is welcome; personal attacks on other community members are not. Heated debate is acceptable; sustained harassment is not. The threshold for moderator intervention is behavior that a reasonable third-party observer would find hostile, threatening, or targeted at degrading an individual.

07.Moderation Workflow

Content moderation is performed by a rotating team of community-elected moderators supplemented by automated flagging systems. Flagged content is reviewed within 48 hours for minor violations and within 4 hours for severe violations (harassment, illegal content). Moderators operate under a documented decision framework and are recused from cases in which they have a conflict of interest. Appeals may be submitted to [email protected].

08.Appeals & Dispute Resolution

If your content is removed or your account is actioned, you may submit an appeal within 30 days of the action. Appeals are reviewed by a moderator not involved in the original decision. You will receive a written response within 14 business days. Decisions on appeals are final. Repeated bad-faith appeals may themselves constitute grounds for further action.
