In a world fractured by the emergence of mystical Gates ten years ago, humanity has been forced into a rigid hierarchy of superhumans known as Gifted. These individuals, categorized by their combat roles as Brawlers, Emitters, Supporters, Healers, or Specials, fight monstrous entities to harvest Magic Crystals, the new gold of a mana driven economy. Amidst this chaos lives Jason Marc, a towering seventeen year old who has spent his youth shouldering the financial and emotional burdens of his family after his father vanished without a trace.
Jasons life shifts violently when he is sucked into a Red Gate during a confrontation with local thugs. On the brink of death after a brutal encounter with a Moonlight Wolf, a mysterious purple pendant left by his father activates, bonding him to the Necromancer System. This cheat trigger transforms Jason into a King, granting him the absolute authority to resurrect any magical beast he kills as a loyal subordinate. By fusing the strategic depth of chess with necromancy, Jason begins to build a Legion of monsters, converting kill points into raw power and evolving his subordinates from mere Pawns into devastating war machines.
After all, he is the King, and the King is the most important piece in chess.

Trapped in the Moonlight Wolfs Den, Jason faces certain death until the Necromancer System initializes, healing his fatal wounds and granting him the King class. He engages in a desperate struggle against a Moonlight Wolf, utilizing a temporary system boost to slay the beast and claim it as his first Pawn subordinate. This victory unlocks the Night Vision skill and introduces the core loop of the system: killing monsters to gain Kill Points, which are then converted into Upgrade Points to evolve his Legion. Jason quickly realizes that as his subordinates grow stronger, he receives a percentage of their stats, allowing him to skyrocket in power far faster than any traditional superhuman.
Jason transitions from a powerless human to a rapidly evolving Necromancer King through the slaughter of beasts.
Jason systematically dismantles the wolf colony by utilizing tactical formations and the Resurrect keyword to expand his army. He faces the Red Gate Boss, a massive black wolf, in a grueling battle that tests his stamina and will. By deploying his upgraded Pawn Rank II wolves as a vanguard and stepping in to deliver critical distractions, Jason slays the Boss and claims it as a Rank III subordinate. This feat grants him the Alpha title and the Predator's Gaze skill, while shocking the outside world and the Hornet Guild when he emerges as a solo clearer, instantly catapulting him to A Rank status.

Armed with an Orange Key, Jason enters a hidden dimensional tear in New York to face the Adamantine Ant colony. He evolves his tactical approach, creating a hierarchy where high ranking Rooks command lower ranking Pawns, reducing his own stamina drain. After a brutal war of attrition against metallic ants, he slays the Ant Queen, granting him the Eye of the King skill and revealing his true nature as a Primordial from the world of Avaran. He further ascends in power by consuming high grade crystals, pushing his stats toward S Rank and acquiring the genetic traits of an Ashenvalley Dragon.
Jason discovers his non human heritage and masters large scale legion warfare to reach S Rank potential.
While exploring the primordial expanse, Jason intervenes in a battle between a dragon rider and a mysterious girl. He obliterates the dragon rider with his superior Legion and resurrects the fallen dragon as a powerhouse Rook subordinate. This encounter introduces him to inter world travelers and the reality of the Primordial Expanse. As he rescues the unconscious girl and returns to Earth, Jason begins to piece together his fathers legacy through the Book of the Apocalypse, realizing he must grow strong enough to fight Primordial beings to protect his family.
Jason expands his Legion to include apex predators and accepts his destiny as Earths ultimate protector.
Once an overlooked teenager, Jason now wields a system that allows him to build an immortal army. His primary stake is the safety of his mother and sister, driving him to seek out his missing father.
