When Damion Wells dies on a dark highway, his next sensation is a smack on the backside and a chime inside his skull. He wakes as a newborn on Nerotath, a world that runs on magic instead of electricity, where three moons hang in the sky and cities raise enchanted walls against waves of Ferocious and Demonic Beasts. The Magic System in his mind tells him he has been reborn and granted exclusive access to a game-like interface, but the screen is mostly locked. Magic talent and affinity are sealed behind a countdown that will not end until his eighteenth birthday. In the first chaotic minutes of his new life, he accepts a free skill draw and receives Mana Absorption, a passive spell that pulls ambient mana into his undeveloped infant body. The initial warmth of mana becomes searing pain as his mana pathways are heavily damaged, a self-inflicted wound that nearly destroys his magical future before he can even speak.
The system lacks cognitive functions until fully unlocked, so it answers his narrow questions but never warns him of danger. It gives him a quest to learn the Otash language, and his parents Caleb and Sharon Wells become his first anchors in an ordinary home on an extraordinary planet. As an infant he studies them relentlessly, completes the language quest in a month, and begins piecing together the shape of Nerotath. The world has ground cars, communication tablets, magical farms, and a history measured in ages of ten thousand years. It also has zones of safety and terror, from the White Zones protected by labyrinths to the Black Zones ruled by beasts. Damion vows not to squander his second chance, even though he has already crippled himself. His determination to master the Magic System and uncover his sealed affinity becomes the engine of the story, and every victory he earns is shadowed by the ticking clock of adulthood.

Reborn With a Magic System
Damion Wells enters Nerotath with a dead man's memories and a newborn's fragile body, and the Magic System makes him dangerous before he can crawl. The interface boots with a status screen that lists his age as zero and hands him a single free skill draw. He blindly chooses Mana Absorption, which pulls in five mana per second, and with a mana capacity of only five his core overflows in two seconds. Excess mana floods his undeveloped pathways, the warning arrives too late, and his mana pathways are heavily damaged with only a five percent chance to heal when the system fully unlocks. The pain makes his parents think something is wrong with his brain, and his mother hovers over him in constant fear. Yet the system immediately gives him a quest to learn the Otash language, and Damion turns every feeding and lullaby into a lesson. By one month old he completes the quest, gains a hundred experience and one store credit, and can suddenly understand his parents perfectly. His intelligence rises, his dexterity rises as he learns to control his infant body, and his mana capacity grows to twenty five through the very accident that hurt him. He spends the first years of his childhood hiding his maturity, acting like a baby when his mother worries, and absorbing knowledge from every book in the house. At six he enters school early and quickly bores of lessons meant for children his physical age. He learns that Nerotath has recorded history stretching back over one hundred eighty thousand years and that knights fought for humanity long before mages appeared. The first milestone closes with Damion still trapped in a child's body, carrying a damaged magic core, a dangerous passive spell, and a system countdown that will take another twelve years to finish. His secret resolve is simple, to grow strong enough that when the system finally unlocks, the world will not know what hit it.
Damion survives his first magical mistake, but the damage teaches him to treat the system as both gift and trap.
Damion's school years become a hunt for answers about his sealed magic. In class he sees the first spell, Minor Heal, and the Magic System quietly records the magic seal even though he cannot use it because his affinity is locked. He makes his way to the school library and finds Hermetics Study of Magic Seals, a massive book filled with tier one spells for every common affinity. He flips through it and records more than twenty magical seals, only to discover all of them are unusable. Panic hits when he reads that a person is limited to learning twenty magic seals in a lifetime, but the system explains that unusable recorded seals and passive spells do not count against his limit. He is left with one burning question, what affinity will be revealed when the lock finally breaks. The answer nearly comes during the beast wave panic in Saung when Dean Richard Thorn of Silver Spire Academy offers to test him with a crystal. The moment Damion touches it, the Magic System treats the intrusion as a hostile act and shatters the crystal to dust. Dean Thorn blames Damion, rages that he will never be trained as a mage, and storms out of the police station. This becomes the first great face-slapping reversal, because the boy publicly rejected as worthless is actually carrying a forbidden system that refuses to let any outside force expose its secrets. The retired librarian Helga Teft reveals herself as an A Rank water mage and senses the remarkable power in Damion's core. She begins training him privately as a knight, giving him mana control exercises, physical conditioning, and a D Rank sword with a fire attack glyph. Her plan is to build his body and combat instinct so that when the seal lifts, he will be a hybrid terror, a mage who can fight in close quarters, read the battlefield, and strike without warning. Damion's peers mock him for having no affinity, but he answers them by shaping raw mana into a glowing ball in his hand. The milestone ends with a boy who has been publicly blacklisted from magic academies, privately trained by an A Rank master, and closer than anyone knows to becoming something unprecedented.
Sealed affinity and broken testing crystal turn public rejection into a hidden path toward impossible power.
The moment Damion turns fifteen, he earns his knight adventurer license and steps into a world far harsher than any game. His first trade caravan escort is attacked by bandits, and he watches men die before he kills his first foe. The horror of real blood and real consequence forces him to accept that Nerotath demands strength or death. He befriends Ethan Hoyt, a daggers knight with a trader father, and Arica Miller, a young spatial mage who becomes his link to dungeon runs and rare discoveries. In a C Rank graveyard dungeon he is hurled across a room by a skeleton champion, but the party still clears the dungeon and earns a fortune. He later takes a mission to hunt Aerico in Benault Forest and discovers the creatures are not Ferocious Beasts at all but Demonic Beasts with tiny cores in their skulls. He finds a cave filled with them, reports it to the Adventurer Association, and sets off a chain of events that reveals an entire D Rank dungeon hidden underground. In that dungeon his team finds Magic Absorbing Crystals, strips a goblin village down to its foundations, and plunders a Heavenly Wind Enhancing Fruit worth thousands of gold. Every success paints a larger target on his back. The Falks Guild, already punished for banditry, puts a bounty on his head, and four assassins ambush him by his ground car. Damion kills them all, learns of the bounty, and keeps moving forward. He advances to D Rank magic power, buys better gear, and begins building a reputation as a young knight who does the impossible. The same people who once mocked him now hear his name whispered in every guild hall and adventurer lounge. His system quests overflow with experience and store credits, but leveling still cannot begin until the system unlocks. The milestone ends with Damion rich, hunted, and standing on the edge of a transformation that will change the world.
Dungeon wealth and guild enemies force Damion from unknown boy into a rising adventurer with a bounty on his head.
With only days left on the Magic System timer, Damion enters a C Rank desert dungeon as a bodyguard and watches two arrogant Fire mages learn humility the hard way. The real test arrives when Saung's alarms scream a beast wave warning. Thousands of Demonic Beasts pour from the Benault Forest, led by three S Rank Arcdotus, monstrous bears with ice and sound magic that flatten the city walls. Damion is knocked from the wall when the first Arcdotus slams through a frozen section of the gates, and he lands in the rubble gap with no choice but to hold the line. For the rest of the day and through the night he fights Wind Wolves, Stone Bears, goblins, and everything else that tries to enter the city. He uses Mana Absorption to keep his mana topped up and his body moving long past the point of exhaustion. He proves himself worthy of legend, cutting down a C Rank goblin champion, burning waves of Demonic Beasts, and finally leaping onto the back of a Deinosuchus when he is separated from his sword. The beast nearly kills him, but his passive mana drain weakens the monster enough for him to destroy its eye and survive. Assist forces rebuild the wall, and Damion collapses into a cot in a field hospital. When he wakes, the S Rank threat is gone and the countdown is almost over. He returns to the hunt for fleeing Demonic Beasts, and in the middle of a battle against a rogue crocodile-like beast, the Magic System chimes with the message he has waited eighteen years to hear. The system is fully unlocked. Damion has achieved mage status. The story cuts at the moment he finally stands on the threshold of his true power.
After defending Saung through a catastrophic beast wave, the Magic System finally unlocks on Damion's eighteenth birthday.
Damion begins as a grown man trapped in a baby body and spends his second childhood on Nerotath turning weakness into strength. His trump card is the Magic System, which records magic seals, issues quests, and carries him to mana capacities far beyond his peers, but his own careless Mana Absorption at birth damages his pathways and forces him to wait eighteen years for full access. He learns magic theory, trains his body as a knight under Helga Teft, and fights through bandit ambushes, dungeons, and a catastrophic beast wave. His major turns include shattering Dean Thorn's testing crystal, discovering a hidden dungeon, earning a bounty from the Falks Guild, and holding a broken city wall against endless Demonic Beasts. The wait for his affinity shapes him into a hybrid threat, a mage who can fight like a knight and a knight who is secretly destined for magic.
Helga Teft was once the Dean of Silver Spire Academy and on the verge of becoming headmistress before Dean Thorn forced her into retirement. She hides her true power behind the role of school librarian and uses Damion as her path back to relevance, training him in secret as a knight while preparing for the day his magical seal lifts. She has a spatial artifact, decades of experience, and a cold understanding of political power. Her plan is to reveal Damion as an exceptional talent once he turns eighteen, humiliate Dean Thorn, and reclaim her position at the academy. She is both a safety net and a schemer, pushing Damion through brutal physical training while making sure no outside force can steal him or threaten his family.
Arica Miller is a graduate of Erythraean Academy and an apprentice to the B Rank spatial mage Dorian Fletcher. Because spatial mages are extremely rare, she carries enormous value to the Mage Association and enjoys protections most adventurers could never claim. She uses her personal spatial storage to gather entire dungeons worth of loot, which makes her an invaluable partner for Damion and Ethan. She first works with Damion on a forest survey mission, defends him against arrogant mages, and repeatedly invites him into dungeon runs that accelerate his growth. Her research into magical zones and dungeon growth gives her an intellectual edge, and her loyalty to Damion grows as she watches him exceed every expectation. She represents the political and academic side of Nerotath's magic world, and her future is tied to the secrets of the Breaches.
