The world of Vortel is a scarred remnant, a single continent clinging to life after centuries of war erased all others. Here, one in ten are born with an ability, categorized as Physical, Magical, or Special, and ranked from Class D to the elusive Class S. Two eternal enemies, Albaria and Arteria, grind against each other in a conflict as old as memory, their soldiers dying in the snow-choked passes of the Dark Forest. But a deeper, older threat stirs beyond the stars. The System, a universal defense mechanism, activates when invaders arrive, granting classes, levels, and skills to every intelligent being on the planet. For the soldiers of Vortel, this is not a gift but a crucible, a sudden escalation that will shatter the fragile balance of their endless war.
In the heart of this chaos stands Aria Crimson, the Crimson Blade, a nineteen-year-old warrant officer with stark white hair and glowing crimson eyes. She is the sole survivor of the Crimson family, a legendary lineage of Class S ability holders, and she carries a secret that has made her a weapon for the Albarian Emperor. Her ability is True Immortality, a power that prevents her from dying or aging, allowing her to regenerate from any wound. Forced into the military at age nine after her family was slaughtered on the Emperor's orders, she has spent a decade as a living blade, fighting without hope of escape, her only solace the numbness that has replaced her pain. The System's arrival does not liberate her; it assigns her the class Harbinger of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and her purpose is to bring death unto others. The universe itself announces her existence, marking her as a threat to be feared, hunted, or worshipped.
I am the Crimson Blade.
Crimson Eternal: An Immortal Death Mage LitRPG Apocalypse
The world freezes as the System initializes, and Aria is assigned the class Harbinger of Death. Her ability, True Immortality, is analyzed as a unique power never seen before. The System announces her as the fourth Horseman, instantly making her a target for every major power in the universe. Her first level-up requirement is to kill one hundred beings. She immediately begins her grim work, slaughtering enemy soldiers and invaders, the System counting each death as she adapts to her new role. The tutorial ends, and reality resumes, leaving her standing over a battlefield of corpses, her path irrevocably set.
Aria's class and ability are revealed, branding her as Death itself.
Aria undertakes a solo sabotage mission against the invading Grand Roan Empire's fortress. She feigns death, is taken inside as a corpse, then awakens to plant explosives in their food and weapons storage. She collapses a tunnel and escapes amid chaos, killing the invasion general in the process. The mission earns her a promotion to First Lieutenant and the title Crimson Eternal, solidifying her reputation as an unkillable weapon. The invaders are crippled, but her actions draw the attention of the empire's emperor, who vows to capture her.
Aria proves her value as a strategic asset, but her power makes her a primary target.
Aria is assigned to the Predator Division, a team of Class S ability holders. They are tasked with infiltrating the Arterian Empire and assassinating their emperor. Using disguises, poison, and precise timing, they succeed in a brutal, synchronized attack. Aria kills the emperor and devours his soul core, ensuring he cannot be revived. The mission is a success, but it forces her to confront her growing attachments to her team, a vulnerability she has long avoided. The Arterian Empire falls into chaos, and the war on Vortel effectively ends.
Aria achieves her revenge on the Arterian emperor but struggles with her emotional connections.
Aria kills the former Albarian emperor, Lysandre, permanently erasing his soul. The First General discovers she is Death and attempts to imprison her, but Aria uses a teleportation coin from the Eternal Dynasty to escape to the planet Eternus. There, she spends two and a half years hunting in the Hunter's Bay, leveling up and gathering resources. She meets the Silver Merchant, Ryohei Shirogane, and is contracted by the Byrne Clan on Luk'tar to fight in their war. She accepts, seeing it as a way to gain more power and freedom, leaving Vortel behind.
Aria escapes her past and begins a new life as a mercenary, seeking strength and independence.
Aria is the last surviving member of the Crimson family, forced into the military at age nine after her family's murder. Her ability, True Immortality, makes her unkillable and ageless, and she is assigned the class Harbinger of Death by the System. She spends a decade as a weapon for the Albarian Emperor, eventually killing him and escaping to the wider universe. She is cold, pragmatic, and struggles to form attachments, fearing the pain of loss. Her power grows through killing, and she uses her Death Spirits and soul energy to devastating effect in combat. She seeks revenge, freedom, and eventually, a purpose beyond war.
Lysandre is the former emperor who ordered the massacre of the Crimson family to eliminate a political threat. He is a figurehead with little real power, driven by insecurity and a desire for control. He uses Aria as a weapon for a decade, but his influence wanes as she gains rank and allies. He is eventually captured and killed by Aria, who devours his soul core, ensuring he can never be revived. He represents the corrupt, tyrannical past that Aria must overcome to find her own path.
Elara is the most powerful general in Albaria, a master strategist who manipulates events to strengthen the Republic. She uses Aria as a tool to win the war and eliminate the emperor, but she also respects Aria's power and offers her a path to revenge. After Aria's identity as Death is revealed, Elara attempts to imprison her but fails. She later protects Aria's secret by providing false intel to the Grand Roan Empire, buying her time. Elara is a complex figure who values the Republic above all, but she is not purely evil, showing a degree of regret for using Aria.
