Luke wakes on a cold stone floor, his mind a shattered mosaic of half-formed memories and his body dressed in rough, unfamiliar clothes. This is not his house. This is a cave, lit by an impossible crystal sun embedded in a cavern ceiling, and the world beyond the opening is a green field that belongs nowhere on Earth. Before he can even process the disorientation, a translucent screen flickers before his eyes: the System has arrived. He is eighteen, and he has accepted the Annual Integration, the phenomenon that has reshaped humanity over the past century, connecting Earth to a multiverse of classes, powers, and gods. Luke did not hesitate to accept, not for a second, because this is his only chance to save his mother, a woman who vanished into the System thirteen years ago and never returned.
But the dream of a safe Training Field shatters instantly. A cascade of red error messages floods his vision, screaming that he has been routed to an unknown location in the multiverse. The System is choking, glitching, and a final window materializes with chilling clarity: Ruins of the Forgotten Temple. An ancient temple dedicated to a fallen being. Surrounded by bloodthirsty monsters. Difficulty: Hell. Luke's heart hammers as he realizes the impossible truth. He is not in a lobby. He is in a death trap, and the only way out is to find a key inside the temple and activate a portal. The peaceful field around him transforms into a landscape of dread as he stumbles upon a fresh corpse, riddled with arrows, and the quest statue speaks in a voice that vibrates through the world itself, offering two paths, both promising death. Panic claws at his throat as he encounters a blood-soaked cop named Walter, who reveals a nightmare within the nightmare: the routing failure has also dumped a group of psychopathic criminals into this zone, and they have already awakened classes and leveled up.
The trap snaps shut. An arrow hisses through the air and buries itself in Walter's chest, killing him in seconds. A group of prisoners emerges from the shadows, their eyes hungry and dead, led by a grinning mage named William. They are not looking to escape; they are looking to rule this place as their own private hunting ground. Luke is surrounded, weaponless, and given a five-second head start that is a cruel joke. He runs, bleeding, through the ruins, his mind screaming for a solution. With the axe pounding against his door and the criminals closing in, Luke opens the System screen and shouts for a class. He scans the options with desperate clarity. Knight is too slow. Archer runs out of ammo. Mage runs out of mana. But the Assassin class, with its promise of fast, lethal strikes and smoke bombs for escape, feels like a recognition, a path that was waiting for him. He chooses it, and something ignites inside him, a strange, sharp heat flooding his veins. With a knife in his hand and a burning instinct, Luke dives through a window, plunging into the nightmare of the Forgotten Temple, the first step on a path that will forge him into a predator.
His eyes burned, and his voice came out low, almost too quiet to hear. "Mom... just hold on. I’m going to save you."
I’m here... I made it.
Becoming the Dark Lord
With a pack of murderous criminals at his heels and a mage's fireball scorching the air, Luke chooses the only path left: the abyss. He jumps from the waterfall, plunging into a merciless underground river that drags him through a gauntlet of stone and water, breaking his leg and crushing his lungs. He is seconds from drowning when he finally surfaces, broken and bleeding, in a new cavern. The System rewards his suicidal gamble with a Small Healing Potion, which knits his bones and seals his flesh, and the full awakening of his Assassin class. He has survived the first challenge, but he has landed in a deeper layer of hell. He finds a note from a previous victim, a desperate scrawl that reads "No way out," and the truth settles over him like stone: someone has already failed here. Luke must now fight through an underground forest of monsters, including a terrifying boss, to find the key that will unlock his escape. He is alone, starving, and running out of time.
Luke survives a suicidal leap into an abyss, awakens his Assassin class, and discovers he is trapped in a hellish dungeon where others have already failed.
Luke's journey through the Forgotten Temple's depths is a brutal crash course in violence. He kills his first monster, a giant rat, and feels the assassin's instinct ignite within him. He faces a trio of kobolds, a fight that nearly kills him, but a race-level-up heals his fatal wounds and grants him a new skill: Identify. He discovers a chest, but it is filled with rocks, a cruel mockery. The true horror is the sealed stone doors, which can only be opened from the inside with the Statue Key, currently guarded by a Boss. Luke realizes the monsters he has been killing are merely accidental falls from the upper floor, and the real challenge, the final floor's guardian, is waiting. He makes the desperate decision to confront the boss, knowing that the alternative is a slow death by starvation. He enters the boss's territory, a floating island suspended over an abyss, and sees it: a demon, a creature of pure darkness with curved horns, sitting on a throne. This is not a boss. This is a nightmare.
Luke battles through the dungeon's denizens, gains vital skills, and discovers the final boss is a terrifying demon, forcing him to confront a seemingly impossible challenge.
Luke must navigate a deadly chessboard where one wrong step means falling into the abyss. He solves a series of riddles, each one representing a chess piece, and must move to the correct square before a countdown ends. He survives by leaping as a Pawn, jumping as a Knight, and sliding diagonally as a Bishop, his assassin's instincts guiding him through the deadly game. He finally reaches the chest, obtains the Statue Key, and believes he has won. But the System has one final, cruel trick: the Duel with the King. The demon awakens, a massive, black-armored figure wielding a colossal sword. The fight is a massacre. Luke is broken, his arm severed, his body crushed. In a final, desperate act, he tricks the demon into charging off the edge of the floating island, using a smoke bomb and his Assassin's Dash to survive. But the victory is hollow. He is cut in half, bleeding out, and dying. In his final moment, a voice from the abyss offers him a choice: accept the Demonic Bloodline and live, or die. Luke, thinking of his mother, accepts. He is reborn as a Half-Demon, the heir to the Dark Lord.
Luke conquers a deadly chess puzzle and defeats the demon boss through trickery, but his victory costs him his life, forcing him to accept a Demonic Bloodline to survive.
Reborn with a new bloodline and the title of Dark Lord, Luke finds the temple has been rebuilt. He is gifted a pair of Demonic Twin Kukris, weapons perfectly suited for an assassin. His journey upward through the dungeon is a relentless grind, each floor a new hell of monsters and traps. He discovers the true power of his bloodline when he uses his Servant of the Dark Lord skill on a cursed skeleton trapped in a coffin. The skeleton is reborn as Princess Charlie, a skeletal warrior with her own system and the potential to evolve. Luke's class mutates into the Demonic Assassin, a path of life-draining power. He faces a skeletal mage that kills Charlie, only to discover his servant can be reborn from his soul. He emerges from the dungeon onto the first floor, where the criminals are camped. He does not run. He becomes the predator, stalking them, picking them off one by one in a silent, brutal campaign of assassination. The final confrontation with William, the mage leader, is a desperate, chaotic battle where Luke uses every trick he has learned, culminating in a final, perfect strike that ends the threat and opens the portal to the Tutorial.
Luke fully embraces his demonic power, gains the loyal servant Princess Charlie, and systematically assassinates an entire camp of criminals before defeating their leader and finally opening the portal to the Tutorial.
